Madrid oozes art and culture on all four sides, a city that can boast of having a great quantity and variety of museums. Accompanied by a guide specialized in art, we will visit one of the most important art galleries in the world, the Prado Museum, and the museum of Spanish contemporary art par excellence, the Reina Sofia. Our first stop will be at El Prado, located in one of the most representative neoclassical buildings of Madrid and whose collection is mainly based on paintings from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. Walking through the buildings of El Prado we will discover Spanish masterpieces such as Las Meninas by Velazquez, as well as the creations of famous Dutch painter el Bosco. We will also see influential pieces of art of great Italian artists such as Fra Angelico or Tintoretto. Then we will head to the Reina Sofía, located in another neoclassical building of the eighteenth century and whose main objective is to show and tell about the avant-garde art of the Spanish masters of the twentieth century. Here we will meet extensive art collections of Spanish painters as important as Picasso, Dalí and Miró.
